Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her mother is English while her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised in the South London council estate, and at the age of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions, including the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started in the series Storm Damage. Over the past few years, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she played Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared on six of the episodes Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi part on the ITV2 Drama The Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in the series 2 and 3. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes on The CW, and was then cancelled. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as a main character, she was a guest in the first episode of season three. From 2014 until the year 2016, she appeared on Salem as Tituba. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were wedding in June of 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg was also on the show with Madekwe on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Four of her older brothers were also in the family: twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because her brothers, who were all athletic, played baseball, hockey, as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley was never able to actually walk. She would dance. At 2 and a 1/2 when she was a little older, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. Ashley competed in tap, jazz and ballet in the high divisions. Ashley won the best soloist prize at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among some.
